Giant Cadex 980C is the first carbon tubes bike from giant and the first carbon frame bike launched for the big public. The carbon tubes are lugged into aluminium hubs. I heard about people complaining about this type of frame construction (not a monocoque) saying that in time the bonded tubes can get weaker. I used 5 giant candex in several years and never had any problem.
This cadex was upgraded with classic shimano 105 STI brake and shifting levers. I kept the good old shimano 105 group for the rest.
Very strong rigida dp18 wheels on shimano 105 hubs.
